Mood Disorder

Disorders that have a disturbance in mood as the predominant feature. The Mood Disorders are divided into the Depressive Disorders, the Bipolar Disorders, and two disorders based on etiology (Mood Disorder Due to General Medical Condition and Substance Induced Mood Disorder). Symptoms include feelings of sadness, emptiness, diminished interest or pleasure, significant weight loss or gain, insomnia or sleeping too much, fatigue feelings of worthlessness or excessive or inappropriate guilt, recurrent thoughts of death, or episodes of extreme elation or mania.
