MACSIS is an acronym for Multi-Agency
Community Service Information System, which is an information system developed in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction
Services. This information system will assist mental health boards increase efficiency, decrease costs, and gain an improved understanding of the outcomes of services received.
MACSIS is primarily an enrollment and claims processing system. Like health insurance plans, consumers of services currently receiving public funds will become members of the Stark County
Community Mental Health Board Plan. Unlike other health insurance plans, once a member enrolls in MACSIS, they are enrolled until or unless they initiate the disenrollment process.
Implementation of MACSIS will not:
1.substitute for the individual agency抯 intake process;
2.negatively impact the timing or quality of services; or
3.compromise confidentiality of information in any way.
MACSIS will be a more efficient monitoring system as all information will be in one location which
replaces multiple systems currently in use that are not compatible.
