What is IMR?
The Illness Management and Recovery program (IMR) is an educational process where a person works with case managers, therapists, and peer coaches to make changes in his/her life.
IMR will:
There are nine education topics of the program:
1. recovery strategies
2. facts about mental illness
3. stress-vulnerability
4. building social support
5. using medications effectively
6. reducing relapses
7. coping with stress
8. coping with problems and symptoms
9. getting your needs met in the mmental health system.
Participating in the IMR program will help you accomplish important personal goals. Once you agree to participate in the IMR program, you and your case manager/therapist will discuss the program to decide which of the topics is most important to you.
