The Board will be using a strategic mapping process which involves community stakeholders, contract providers and consumers.

It is through the strategic mapping process that great results will come from ambitious and clearly defined priorities, creative and enthusiastic people and a commitment to action, rather than lengthy discussions about possible activities.

The strategic mapping process includes a review of the current and past successes, roadblocks, trends and issues through the use of focused interviews with individuals and groups, as well as the use of surveys of community stakeholders.  Through the group facilitation method, participants agree on community goals and strategies on how to reach destinations.

The final step in the strategic mapping process involves the creation of a community plan:  a living document that will guide the activities of the Board to ensure that the behavioral health care needs of Stark County are being addressed.
